Rachel Nolen - PPCD Teacher This will be my eighth year teaching at Brooke, my eighteenth teaching within Austin ISD, and my 40+ year of teaching. I also taught in Japan for two years, was a teacher aide at the TX School for the Deaf for a year, and taught for a program called ECI, Early Childhood Intervention, for children with disabilities (birth to three-years-old) for twenty years. Received my training at Concordia Junior College here in Austin ...oh, so long ago, and my undergraduate degree at Concordia University in Chicago, IL. After coming home from Japan (and marrying my sweetheart), I returned to school and received my Master's degree in Special Education from UT, Austin. Favorite activities include being with my family, reading, traveling, and watching old movies (Alfred Hitchcock movies, Marx brothers). I am so glad for the students at Brooke to have such a GREEN environment, with all of the gardens and beautiful plants around the school!
