Mission and Vision

Brooke L.I.O.N.S.
Learning In Outdoor Natural Spaces

SHARED BELIEFS ABOUT CHILDREN
Our beliefs about the nature of children determines the kind of education we offer. What is best for children is at the heart of all of our decision-making as educators. We believe that learning happens in a safe, caring environment where thoughts, ideas and feelings are shared and respected. Each child is unique and has special needs, abilities and individual ways of making sense of the world. We believe that students will grow as learners, and ensure their own and others’ educational success if they:
  1. Attain depth and breadth of academic knowledge and understanding.
  2. Can solve problems independently and in collaboration with others.
  3. Develop sound decision-making skills by reflecting on choices and consequences.
  4. Care for others in the same way that they would enjoy having others care for them.
  5. Understand modern technologies, and use them wisely and effectively.

Vision:Brooke Elementary fosters a safe and nurturing learning environment with high expectations for all students, addressing the needs of the whole child in order to develop exemplary leaders in their local and global community.

Mission:A highly qualified staff will facilitate student centered learning across subject areas to develop critical thinkers who are socially and emotionally responsible citizens of the Brooke community.
