Brooke Library - Ms Beverding

About Ms. Beverding:
I have been an educator for 25 years. I for the last 11 years I have been a librarian, before that I taught for 14 years in many different grade levels. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a minor in Spanish. After graduating, I taught in Galveston, my hometown, for 5 years before moving to Austin. While in Galveston, I received my bilingual endorsement from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. While teaching here in Austin, I completed a Master's program in Information and Library Science from the University of North Texas. When I'm not at work I love cooking, crafting and spending time with family and friends.
Green Eco School Initiative
I work with teachers to find materials for them to use in their classrooms.
Technology in the Classroom
I like to make the library a fun place for kids to read, learn and grow. I see each class once a week. Sometimes we have stories or lessons on how to use the library and book check out, other weeks students PK and up are on the computers learning how to code or basic computer literacy.
